the aftermath

af·ter·math : A period of time following a disastrous event: in the aftermath of war.

This is aftermath as defined by the www.thefreedictionary.com. However, the aftermath I'm referring to is the literal after math. I spent 6 years in college majoring in Math. On my 6th year, I only had two subjects left, one for each semester. So in an effort to keep myself busy, I decided to make a comforter for my then boyfriend (now my husband). This was in 2008. Years passed and only this year did I finish the comforter project (not for the lack of time to do it but as always the ningas kugon in me prevailed). This comforter was supposed to be for my husband but then we'll be having our first baby soon so I decided to convert it to a baby's comforter / mat. It's not pretty like the ones sold commercially but I am proud of it because it's a labor of love.

I first started using hand stitching. I didn't have a sewing machine back then.

Then in April 2011, I managed to buy myself a Brother sewing machine. This machine is the fruit of our (my husband and I) labor in BCeeBee, an online shop we started last February. We sold thrifted clothes. For the meantime, we stopped its operation so as not to compromise our baby's health and safety. But we are hoping that we can revive it after the baby's born.

Lately, I've been very conscious of how I look. Before, I don't bother with make-up but for the past few weeks, I'm beginning to be into it. Maybe it's because I'm going to be a mom soon (or maybe because I'm just starting to feel a bit old, I'm 25 by the way) that I want to look pretty (or younger, hahaha). Or maybe both. So this is another side of me that I discovered recently and I think I'm quite excited on how this will turn out.
